The Maniototo Community Library is housed at the Maniototo Area School and run by Central Otago District Council, as part of the shared library service for Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes.
The library is a bright, friendly place where community and school come together. There are often displays of pupils’ work and may varied forms of art on show.
The library is well stocked with a varied and up-to-date selection of adult fiction and non-fiction including magazines, DVDs and talking books.
Children are well catered for with picture books, puzzles, a large collection of children’s non-fiction, and novels for children and young adults.
Resources As you would expect for a combined school/community library, we have strong Children and Young Adult collections, as well as good fiction and non-fiction collections for adults. We also have a good range of movies available for loan.
New Books - Once new books have been processed they are displayed on two new book stands and available for immediate loan.
Local Government - Central Otago District Council meeting agendas and district plan information and Otago Regional Council notifications are available.
Services include holiday programmes for school-aged children, weekly Lego club, summer and winter reading challenges, Wi-Fi and a computer for public use.
