Central Otago golf is all about fun in the sun amidst some fabulous scenery and few will walk away from Cromwell Golf Course without a relieved wry smile or grin when they reflect on how they have played.
A unique micro-climate and terrain resembling a coastal links area means the sky is often clear and the course open for play when others in the area are closed. The dry, desert-like climate brings high temperatures in summer with low humidity. In winter a crisp white frost ensures a brilliantly sunny day in which to enjoy a round of golf on a course maintained to a consistently high standard.
The par 72 championship course boasts 5 different tee locations to cater for all levels of golfer and ensure a fair but challenging game. They measure: 4468 from the Red tees, 5204 from the Yellow tees, 5844 from the White tees, 6234 from the Blue tees, 6462 from the Black tees
The Club welcomes green fee players year round, and visitors are welcome to play on club days: Men - Wednesdays and Saturdays, Women - Tuesdays and Thursdays. Practice facilities include a very large putting green, bunker and chipping area and a full length driving range. Electric golf carts, trundlers and clubs are also available for hire.
The club has a PGA Professional on-course available for lessons and with a fully stocked pro-shop, he can take care of all your golfing needs. There are seven championship courses within a 50-minute drive of Cromwell, making it the centre of golf in the Central Otago/Southern Lakes area and the ideal base for a golfing tour.
We are also in the centre of the fastest growing wine region in the country offering plenty of options to visit vineyards and wine tasting.
Cromwell Golf Club – give it a go. You won’t be disappointed.
