Meals On Wheels (Cromwell)
The service known as Meals on Wheels provides support for the elderly, the ill or disabled who are living at home and who would otherwise struggle to provide healthy meals for themselves.

The cost of each meal is subsidised by the District Hospital Board through Central Otago Health Services.

Meals can be supplied for a short term to those recovering from surgery or illness, or on a longer term basis, through a referral or assessment by a local medical professional.

The nutritious hot meals are freshly prepared each day in the Ripponburn kitchen and are delivered around the town by a team of volunteers. The volunteer drivers also have the opportunity to provide regular social contact for those who are isolated.

The service is co-ordinated by Noeline Watson, who can be contacted for help and information on 445 1157. Secondary contact is the office at Ripponburn on 445 0021.
