Central Lakes Trust
Central Lakes Trust is a charitable trust that grants funds for charitable purposes.

It was established in December 2000 when the Otago Central Electric Power Board bestowed assets valued at $155 Million. The Trust has had a significant impact on many community groups since its inception, having approved grants totalling over $75M.

The mission of CENTRAL LAKES TRUST is “to enhance assets and enrich lives”

Its vision is “to make our community a better place to be”.

The Trust can assist many community projects and needs, but all must be able to meet charitable criteria. This is defined as:

• the relief of poverty
• the advancement of education
• the advancement of religion
• any other matters that are beneficial to the community.

Central Lakes Trust provides a “helping hand” by funding grants to organisations and groups who service a need within its defined geographical region.

Grants are considered monthly by our Trustees.
