Cromwell Lions Club
The Cromwell Lions Club is a service club active in and around Cromwell. It provides a number of services in the community and raises funds for various causes.
The Lions motto is simple - We Serve.
The emphasis is on community service in all forms. Lions programmes serve the young and the aged, the disabled and the disadvantaged - anybody who has a need. Programmes are conducted locally, nationally and internationally.
They include sight conservation and work with the blind, citizenship services, hearing and speech action, programmes with the deaf, drug education, environmental, recreational, health and social services.
To raise funds the Cromwell Club carries out catering work (at public & private events), mans entry gates at local events, prepares and sells firewood. It also owns and operates a Thomas the Tank Engine offering children’s rides. It provides an annual Christmas luncheon for senior citizens. It also organizes an annual charity golf tournament.
The club meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month (excluding December and January) at 6.30pm at the Victoria Hotel in Cromwell. For further information please refer to www.lionsclubs.org.nz or contact Chris Mann 03 445 3001.
