Provisions is a manufacturer of gourmet preserves, jams, chutneys & sauces based on heirloom recipes that have been revisited with a contemporary twist. Pauline Murphy and Jane Shaw, two dedicated cooks and promoters of regional foods founded Provisions of Central Otago in Cromwell in 2003.
Provisions has developed a boutique and sophisticated range with a strong regional flavour. All products are made with real integrity using the intensely flavoured Central Otago fruits. Central Otago is New Zealand’s premium, quality stonefruit and pinot noir wine growing region because of the Mediterranean climate that produces these intense flavours
There are no added preservatives, food colouring, nor additives in our Provisions range and our preserves are gluten and dairy free.
Provisions won Best Food at the Otago Food and Wine festival judged by leading food writer, Laurraine Jacobs and our Roasted nectarine chutney was named best chutney in NZ by The Herald on Sunday and Provisions was named in the top 10 best artisan food producers in the country. The Roasted Cherry Chutney was awarded the Cuisine Artisan Award for top 10 artisan product in 2009.
Provisions offers a unique food range of interesting products that are now sold in more than 100 gourmet food and retail outlets throughout New Zealand and are exported to Hong Kong, USA and Victoria- Australia.
Our range is extensive and includes chutneys, jams, sauces, fruit vinegars and fruit pastes.
Provisions won the Central Otago District Council’s Business Excellence Award for 2008.
