Akarua is the largest family owned vineyard in Central Otago – with 100 hectares spread across three estates. The majority of the vineyards are located in the prestigious Bannockburn sub-region, which is widely regarded as the “Grand Cru” site of Central Otago.
• Situated on picturesque Cairnmuir Road in Bannockburn, the Akarua Cellar Door is open 7 days a week for complimentary wine tastings. With our estate vineyard in close proximity, it is a wonderful place for our visitors to experience the ambience and warmth of Central Otago.
• Akarua is a “must stop” on the wine trail for those interested in learning about the Central Otago region. Enjoy sampling the diverse range of Akarua wines available, including our renowned Pinot Noirs and sparkling range.
