Heritage Tour & River Cruise
Como Villa Estate and Clutha River Cruises have developed an historical and unique adventure which begins with at Como Villa Estate where you can take in the museum, putting green, and explore the old wine cellars dating back to the 1865. Start time is 1pm at the Como Villa carpark. The second part of the package is a Clutha River Heritage Cruise at 2.30pm which departs from the Alexandra boat ramp. The Heritage cruise is a journey back in time through the Roxburgh Gorge where passengers will be given a commentary on the history of the area and view some Central Otago's best examples of Chinese and European Gold Miners huts and rock shelters dating back to the 1860's. The Heritage Cruise takes 2.5 hours which includes a guided tour of the Doctors Point gold workings followed by light refreshments on the banks of the Clutha River (Tea/coffee, muffins etc) At 5pm clients will be transported back to the Alexandra boat ramp. An alternative option is to bike to Como Villa and then cycle down the Roxburgh Gorge trail and return back to Alexandra on the Clutha River Cruise. This tour is suitable for all ages, and can cater for up to 15 people. It's a great trip for function celebrations, conferences, team building, and is a journey back in time offering an excellent value.
Tour is $95 per adult, $55 children up to 14 years, Children 3 and under free.
