The Alexandra Contract Bridge Club has been in operation for just over 40 years.
We are the only Bridge Club in the area - the next closest being in Cromwell. The Club is run purely for the playing of the game of Bridge, but we are also happy to entertain other clubs or groups who may wish to hire our rooms either on a regular or temporary basis.
We have a full program and hold sessions on Monday and Wednesday evenings, as well as Friday mornings, to which we welcome existing members and visitors who may be in the area on holiday. We run three tournaments per year and these are attended by top level players as well as less experienced players from all around the South Island.
Like any Club, we always need new members and to this end we try to run Bridge lessons annually. If this is not possible we will always try to arrange lessons around anyone who contacts the Committee about learning the game.
Bridge can be an interesting and challenging game and no two hands are ever the same. The possibilities for keeping the 'grey matter' honed and active are huge and valuable.
